I do not really understand what you mean. An "external hard drive on TV?
Each disk must match the TV using a computer or a digital video recorder interface. And playback of video on a hard drive .... The video will be recognized for the hard drive when you use an external hard drive.
If you think an external DVD drive, then I suggest you get a DVD player and buy an external enclosure. You get a better unit in this way.
Do you want to connect a hard drive or DVD? Each connection will work through a computer. Have the graphics card, should be an S-video.
