What are my best options to connection ps3 to phillips surround sound (5.1) w/no optical input? - red/white aux with headphone jack
So far I have audio ports (red and white) running in surround sound and connected the PS3 to your TV via an HDMI cable. TV has an optical output, but the receiver only has inputs for coaxial orange and red and white (color more or less) and not optically. What are the best options for audio connections to the experiences of the highest quality surround sound on my PS3 and my TV?

They have no way to make the most of your audio system to receive.
The only way to get surround sound with the PS3 is HDMI or optical. Ideally you will send audio and video via HDMI receiver then to TV via HDMI.
If the receiver has no HDMI connection, the video to the TV via HDMI and audio to the receiver sends an optical. What not to do is to send audio and video to TV via HDMI and audio for the TV receiver via optical. If you have to get 2-channel audio. Because television can not pass surround sound.
Since they have no optical or HDMI options with your receiver can only send 2-channel audio. Use the red / white RCA cables to do.
